The Silver Star was a gem. It was spotless. In addition, it performed flawlessly and was very comfortable. The check-out process was thorough, and our trip to the San Juan Islands was a pleasure. Certainly recommend Chuckanut Westfalias.

Bob and Maureen have this down. We have rented a van before but this experience was night and day. Their van was so well thought out using the space so wisely and all the items in there were high end, like the Swiss cook pans. They were excellent communicators and were generous in many ways including telling us about tips about where to stay including bakeries to visit. Highly recommend them. It was a 5+ experience.

We had a fine camping vacation in Van Gogh. The van performed flawlessly.

Bob and Maureen – can’t thank you enough for letting us use Van Gogh and for providing the detailed instructions. The RV was five star – double battery, firm mattresses and the two new sponges did it for us 🙂 when we picked up the RV. It made all the difference. We had a wonderful vacation and did more than ten hikes so no wonderful the extra mileage. Looking forward to repeat on highway 2 next year.

What a wonderful couple to deal with! Bob and Maureen are super friendly and really helped to make our trip work out , especially considering the large number of park closures we were trying to work around. Bob gave us some great recommendations and was flexible with what we needed to do. We’ve owned several Westfalias in the past , but none as nice as Honu ! Bob went over all of the extra features the van is equipped with and made sure we were completely comfortable before heading out on our journey . Bob and Maureen (and Honu) really took care of every detail. I cannot say enough about what a great vehicle Honu is and how she facilitated the great time we had in Port Townsend and on Washington’s coast. Aimee and I have always wanted a Westfalia, but the costs and hassles of ownership have just been too high. Chuckanut Westfalias is the solution. Why buy when you can rent a machine in great condition like this? Every little thing was considered from the spice rack, to the easy to understand Guide, to the lovely, lovely heater (it’s cold on the Washington Coast in November). And in check-in and checkout was a breeze.

We could not have been any happier with our experience renting from Bob and Maureen of Chuckanut Westfailias! From the moment we booked, Bob was quick to reply to our questions, and readily shared with us a wealth of information about the PNW which was a huge help in planning our trip. The van was great: clean and stocked with everything we needed for 10 days of camping. You can tell that Bob and Maureen have put a lot of love, thought and care into the vans. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough, and will definitely be back!

What a fun vehicle to drive! Honu, the van, is responsive and does well at all speeds. Its Subaru engine is powerful, compared to our VW van in the 1970’s. Honu is outfitted with a canopy, great cooking utensils, refrig and burners that make cooking easy. Bob and Maureen have great suggestions on where to go and sights to see. Both are very helpful on showing you how everything works, from setting up the beds to extending the canopy/shade to turning on the propane and so much more. I will rent Honu again.

Cannot speak highly enough of Bob & Maureen. Saw plenty of other Westy’s on the road, thought mine was in the best shape. Bob takes great care of it and doesn’t take shortcuts on service or updates. Also, if anything does go wrong, he’ll have your back. Chuckanut isn’t totally convenient to get to, but the vans are worth it!

Bob and Maureen made everything about our trip in Honu easy, wonderful, and enjoyable. They were great at helping us choose/finalize our itinerary (which included helping us figure out BC Ferries and BC Provincial Parks), and how far to travel every day, and special side trips to consider. So from the very first contact to the day we returned from the trip, Bob and Maureen were absolutely amazing. Honu is a terrific camping van. It’s immaculate, every system worked perfectly, and it was easy to drive and operate. The walk-through before we left was efficient and thorough, and if we’d had any questions along the way (which we didn’t), there is a good handbook in Honu to remind us of any details (plus Bob was available via phone, if we’d needed to talk to him). We got great gas mileage on our trip to Vancouver Island. Honu was easy to set up and take down wherever we stopped for the night. An added bonus was that we could easily make and eat lunch while we waited in ferry lines (something we did quite often). This turned out to be a great way to pass the time. A really fun part of traveling in Honu is how many people ask about it. We met people from all over the world because of driving Honu! And almost every VW Vanagon we passed waved at us (the driver, not the van), which was really fun. We were instantly (though only temporarily) members of a small and enthusiastic club. If you get a chance to rent Honu (or VanGogh) from Chuckanut Westfalias and Bob and Maureen, go for it. You’ll be so glad you did. We definitely look forward to going out again and continuing the adventure!

This was our second booking with Outdoorsy and our first with Bob and Maureen. It was also our first trip to BC. There is so much to do and we so much to see. Bob and Maureen’s recommendations and trip reservations were priceless for an excellent trip. The van was amazing, clean and well stocked with the necessities for camping. The camper is totally self contained so we really did not need the full hook up site we got. Everything worked great and when I could not remember some of the instructions Bob was available immediately by text. We flew in from Texas to Bellingham and literally walked right across the parking lot to a great hotel where Bob met us with the van and went over everything early the first morning so we were able to get a early start. Listen closely to what he tells you about the ferries and if you are crossing the border to Canada. He knows what he is talking about and your trip will be much better and less frustrating. I would highly recommend this Van along with Bob and Maureen. We will most certainly be back

Bob & Maureen are excellent hosts. Upon arrival, they take you through all of the important information about the van so you have everything you need for an easy trip. They also provide great tips and suggestions for first time van-goers like myself. In terms of working with them: they responded very quickly to my questions, and genuinely wanted us to have a good time. I would highly recommend Bob & Maureen (especially since they are dog lovers). The Westfalias are in perfect condition and make for about the best van trip you could hope for. They also have thought about every single thing you could possibly need on a trip (including headlamps and coffee pour-over), so you literally don’t need to bring anything. I ended up leaving the items I brought in our car because they already had it taken care of. If you’re thinking of doing a van trip, definitely book with Chuckanut Westfalias (and bring your dog).

We rented Honu for a trip through British Columbia to Jasper, Alberta. We chose to drive this van because we are newly retired and wanted to see if traveling and camping in a smaller camper van suited us. We drive a Subaru, so the Subaru engine and Audi brakes overcame any worries we had about driving an older VW van. Bob and Maureen helped us plan our route and were always available to help answer our many questions and review our itinerary. The van itself was perfect. We were able to fly on Allegiant Airlines with only carry-on luggage because the van had everything we needed; including spotlessly clean bedding a fully stocked kitchen. Bob went over all the operation details we needed to drive and set up at campsites safely and comfortably and the van also had a great written guide with pictures. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had! Bob and Maureen went out of the way to answer questions , picked me up at an Amtrak station , and were very friendly ! This VW Westy is a gem ! Bob is a an absolute professional at van life . He has thought of it all . The van was well equipped and had ZERO problems from Washington to Canada. I would definitely rent with them again !

I had looked at other van listings and Bob & Maureen’s listing definitely stood out. There’s so much included with your rental. All you need is your food and clothing. The van we rented, Honu, was absolutely meticulous. The sleeping bags, chairs, towels, cookware, coffee, headlamps, awning, etc were all perfect! Since we would be traveling with our two small children, safety was a main concern. Bob and Maureen’s vans offered three-point seatbelts, installed by the owner, that could harness our kids car seats securely. This is a feature that many other vans do not offer. When we arrived at the owners property to pick up the van, they were so kind to our little campers. They got us acquainted with all of the amenities of the van and even let us stay the night in their driveway since we arrived late. My husband slept on the rooftop bed and I slept with the kids down below. It was really quite comfy. We had no problems running the refrigerator and charging our iPhones for our four days without electric. We camped at the Gorge Ampitheater for a 3-day music festival and people frequently stopped to compliment the van. It really was the perfect home away!!

I rented Honu for my trip through the North Cascade Mountains. This camper really made the trip. Bob and Maureen went above and beyond in helping me beforehand, giving pointers and tips for the journey. The van itself is in amazing condition. They’ve really thought through everything you’ll need while on the road – from very detailed documentation of how to use the features and controls, to kitchen and camp supplies. I literally showed up with a backpack and had everything I needed. Honu was my first experience renting a camper like this, and honestly I don’t know if any other will be able to live up to my expectation after this.

Our trip was wonderful! The van was meticulous and well equipped. Bob and Maureen have thought of everything you might need on your adventure and made sure to provide it, often with a personal touch. We were comfortable and felt pampered – ice and cold drinks! Bob’s mechanical skills are evident – the van was a pleasure to drive. They were also quick to offer itinerary suggestions. This was by far the best experience my wife and I have ever had renting a VW camper! We have rented from 5 different sources from Vancouver to San Jose and none have come close to the quality of equipment, attention to detail and support we experienced renting from Bob and Maureen. Bob even provided a ride from the Bellingham airport and we rented the B&B downstairs for a great start to our trip! They have thought of everything, the van was flawless, we may never rent a van from anyone else again!

Simply put, our week in Van Gogh was spectacular. Fully equipped, extremely well maintained, amazing comfort. Van Gogh is one sweet running machine. Can’t wait for our next trip. I only wish I could give Bob and Maureen more than five stars!

We had a fantastic trip and loved renting Honu. Bob and Maureen were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The van was loaded with extras which made it easier to pack less. They also knew a lot about Orcas Island and had lots of great pointers. We will definitely be renting from them again! We had a blast!

What a fantastic trip! Bob and Maureen were friendly, supportive, responsive and professional in all communications with us. They meticulously prepared the van for our needs, including installing an anchor for a second car seat for us. The van was super clean and well stocked with all sorts of camping extras (we especially loved the outdoor mat). The van ran smoothly (and had added bonuses like chargers for our “iDevices”). This was amazing. This van is so well outfitted to make a week of camping seven months pregnant and with a three-year-old actually comfortable and fun! Flew in from the East Coast so we had basically just our clothes with us. Everything we could’ve possibly wanted was provided!

“5 stars = Awesome” Simply doesn’t do justice in describing our incredible experience renting from Bob and Maureen, I am confident that Chuckanut Westfalias will forever be the first name we throw out for anyone interested in renting a Camper Van in the Pacific Northwest. The attention to detail, care and knowledge oozing from these two is a resource in itself… which further enriched our 7 day tour around the Olympic Peninsula. My daughter and I had a FANTASTIC weekend with Van Gogh – Bob and Maureen were wonderful helping us get acquainted with the camper, and it is outfitted with absolutely everything one would need for a fun journey. We popped the top, put out the awning (necessary due to rain), and everything worked perfectly. I hope to have an opportunity to drive Van Gogh again!
